Richard Bechard Named Athletic/Activities Director - Lee's Summit Tribune - Lee's Summit News



Richard Bechard was named the Lee’s Summit R-7 School District 2014-15 athletic/activities director at the Feb. 20 Board of Education meeting. Mr. Bechard, who is currently district athletics and activities director for the Blue Valley School District, will replace Darwin Rold, who is retiring in June.
In addition to serving as Blue Valley athletic and activities director for the past eight years, Mr. Bechard has worked as an assistant principal/athletic director, teacher and coach in Holton, Kan., and as athletic director, teacher and coach in Stockton, Kan. In all, he has 34 years of experience in education.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education and his master’s degree in education, both from Fort Hays State University. Mr. Bechard has served as president of the both the Kansas Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association and the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association. He was named Kansas Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association Athletic Director of the Year in 2003 and National Council of Secondary School Athletic Directors Athletic Director of the Year in 2004. In 2013, he received the National Federation of High Schools Citation Award.

School Board Candidates

I am attempting to find information on the school board candidates.  It has been much easier in the past.  This year it has been more difficult.  Susan D. Coffman Susan Coffman has served as the Outreach Program Coordinator and Finance Officer for Lee’s Summit CARES since 2008.
