School Board Candidates

I am attempting to find information on the school board candidates.  It has been much easier in the past.  This year it has been more difficult.

Susan D. Coffman

Susan Coffman has served as the Outreach Program Coordinator and Finance Officer for Lee’s Summit CARES since 2008. She has been a mayor-appointed representative to the Human Services Advisory Board, facilitated alcohol retailer trainings, organized the annual Holly Festival with the DARE program, managed bookkeeping and accounting, and served as the community liaison between LS CARES and local business, universities and the cities.

Coffman’s financial background includes work as a customer support specialist at Jack Henry & Associates Inc. for 11 years and assistant vice president and customer support specialist at Merchants Bank for 17 years.

Her community activities include serving on the Human Services Advisory Board, Paradise Park Advisory Board, Lee’s Summit Social Services Board, former treasurer of Rotary Club of Lee’s Summit, numerous positions within the Lee’s Summit Chamber, Citizen Advisory Committee of the School District, Civic Round Table, THCF Community for All Ages Civic Engagement and Transportation committees, and Career Pathways Advisory Team of the School District.

Coffman was named the Lee’s Summit CARES Volunteer of the Year in 2005, 2006, and 2007. She received the Elks Distinguished Citizenship Award in 2007, the Community Oriented Policing Award in 2008, the Certificate of Appreciation from the Missouri Municipal League in 2012, and she was the 2012 City of Lee’s Summit Citizen of the Year.

Kim Fritchie

Kim Fritchie has been active in the Lee’s Summit CARES organization since 1993, serving as president, vice president, and secretary, as well as serving on the education, finance, and public relations committees. She is a retired school administrator who served the Lee’s Summit School District for 30 years.
As a member of the Lee’s Summit community since 1976, she is deeply committed to the Lee’s Summit community and programs that will help maintain a positive and healthy quality of life for its citizens. She is an active member of the Lee’s Summit Beautification Commission, the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan Principal’s Association, the Lee's Summit Education Foundation Alumni Committee, and the Lee's Summit High School Hall of Fame Committee.

Diego Gutierrez

Benevolence is nothing new to Diego Gutierrez and his wife of 17 years Ginna.
The husband and wife team from Lee’s Summit are national spokesman and spokeswoman for the United Nations Foundation’s Nothing but Nets campaign, a global initiative to raise awareness and funding to fight malaria, one of the leading causes of death among children in Africa.
To that end, Diego Gutierrez, a retired Major League Soccer player for the original Kansas City Wiz (later the Wizards, now Sporting KC), was named the 2007 U.S. Soccer Federation/MLS Humanitarian of the Year.
Michael W. McMenus
Jill Worstell
Jill Marie Worstell is the sole owner of The Worstell Law Firm, where she primarily focuses her law practice on representing clients in family law, estate planning and business litigation matters in both Missouri and Kansas. She is the managing and supervising attorney at the firm.
Mark S. Augustin.
Jill Dannaldson initially filed but withdrew her name on Jan. 20. Her name will not be on the ballot because she withdrew before the certification deadline for elections.
