Lets Take A Look At How Intertwined The Lives Of Our School Board Are

Gene Brixey:  Mr. Brixey is married to Reneé. a building clerk at Longview Farm Elementary School.  A member in the Lee’s Summit United Methodist Church.  This means that his household is receiving an income from the Lee's Summit School District.

Jack Wiley:  Citizens’ Advisory Committee (CAC). His wife, Suzanne, a teacher in the R-7 School District.  This means that his household is receiving an income from the Lee's Summit School District.

Patti Buie:  She previously worked as an R-7 School District substitute teacher.  Co-chairperson of the R-7 School District’s 1996 Proposition C levy campaign committee, as co-chairperson of the 1998 bond committee.   The 1996 R-7 Superintendent Selection Committee.  Active in the Lee’s Summit United Methodist Church. 

Ron Baker:  He retired in 2001 after working for 36 years in the R-7 School District.  This means that his household is receiving a pension from the Lee's Summit School District.

Terri Harmon:  She has served on the R-7 Citizens' Advisory Committee (CAC) and on the CAC Steering Committee .  The Lee's Summit R-7 Building Our Future Committee.

Chris Storms:  He served on the R-7 Citizens' Advisory Committee (CAC) for six years, including three years on the CAC Steering Committee. The R-7 Building Our Future Committee, a group he co-chaired in 2009-10.  He served as chairperson for the Lee's Summit Coalition for Excellence in Education.  His family includes his wife, Audra, a second-grade teacher at Summit Pointe Elementary.  This means that his household is receiving an income from the Lee's Summit School District.

Phyllis Balagna:  A former high school English and theater teacher, Balagna serves the school district as a member of its Business Roundtable, Citizens’ Advisory Committee and Superintendent’s Quality Focus Team. She also is an advisory board member for the Lee’s Summit Education Foundation and a member of Lee’s Summit CARES.  Lee's Summit Chamber of Commerce.
