Junk for Jonas to raise money for Lee's Summit student - Independence, MO - The Examiner

I wouldn't normally share something like this because the district uses this positive press to hide the real issues, but I believe that this is important.

Several Lee’s Summit schools are helping sponsor a Junk for Jonas Community Garage Sale next month.
The event is from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 2 and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 3 at the Lakeland Community Church, 913 N.E. Colbern Road. The sale will benefit Jonas Borchert.
Borchert is a student at Lee’s Summit High School who also attended Mason Elementary, Woodland Elementary and Pleasant Lea Middle School. Pleasant Lea Middle School is sponsoring the sale with the assistance of other schools Jonas has attended, including Lee’s Summit High School, Mason Elementary and Woodland Elementary. Pleasant Lea Elementary is also helping sponsor.
Borchert is currently in the midst of his second battle against a Ewing Sarcoma, an aggressive form of cancer. Proceeds from the sale will help his family with expenses related to this battle.
Junk for Jonas is a donation-only garage sale, and any reasonable offer will be accepted. Cash only please. Also included at the event will be a bake sale, face painting and temporary tattoos
