Two districts – Ste. Genevieve R-II and Maryville R-II – also were recognized for being exemplary. Both districts have shown significant gains in student achievement in all buildings.
“The recognition of the good work occurring in these school buildings and districts affirms that student achievement is greatly enhanced in highly collaborative environments with a focus on student success,” said Commissioner of Education Chris L. Nicastro.
The Missouri Professional Learning Communities Project began during the 2003-04 school year to promote school cultures focused on learning with collaborative teams effectively using data to increase student achievement.
