Kansas City Office of Department of Education Office Civil Rights Director Angela Bennet has a conflict of interest | Civil Rights is Dead in Department of Education

The US Department of Education Office of Civil Rights does not prosecute discrimination violations. The Kansas City Regional Office of Civil Rights (OCR) at the Department of Education (DOE) has not turned over any cases to the Department of Justice for prosecution in the last 10 years. The Department of Education's Kansas City Regional Office of Civil Rights is led by Director Angela M. Bennett. OCR under Ms. Bennett has not prosecuted a single University or College. The reason for this lack of prosecution has been discovered by Disabled Students in Higher Education. Director Bennett has a conflict of Interest. Ms. Bennett has been the President of the Board of Trustees for theUniversity of Missouri System since 2006. Ms. Bennett is also on the board of Curators at her Alma Mater University of Missouri Kansas City.
Department of Education claims ignorance of Bennett's role at UMKC

In a phone Interview with Ms. Bennett's supervisor Mr. Randolph Wills it was discovered that the DOE Office of Ethics had approved Ms. Bennett working for the very system that she is supposed to oversee for discrimination. When Mr. Wills was questioned about the impropriety, he stated his ignorance of Ms. Bennett's lack of prosecution of discrimination of UMKC or the University of Missouri system. Further investigation revealed that the University of Missouri Kansas City has the most egregious record of discrimination that the Washington D.C. Office of Civil Rights has ever seen. Members of the Senate Education Committee have recently been made aware of this violation of Federal Law.

The Department of Education Office of Civil Rights closes cases illegally
The Office of Civil Rights often illegally closes complaints when students file a Freedom of Information request. The Kansas City Regional Office of Civil Rights under Director Bennett has closed thousands of cases without a full investigation. Ms. Bennett has repeatedly stated that her goal is not to serve only the students but to also serve the Universities and Colleges that she has regulatory power over. According to the members of Congress Ms. Bennett and the OCR has a duty to the protected class of students such as disabled and minority students. Finally, Randolph Wills of the Washington D.C. Department of Education Office of Civil Rights has stated he does not want relieve Ms. Bennett of her post. The Department of Education has denied Civil Rights for the very students who are in need of their protection.
