  1. Participate in scheduled board meetings and on at least one strategic committee
  2. Support all major annual fundraising events
  3. Hold each other/ourselves accountable for Gillis’ mission, financial viability, and ongoing success
  4. Make personal financial contributions at an appropriate level (“virtual shareholder”)
  5. Recommend contacts as board members and donors
  6. Seek additional financial resources from individuals, foundations, and corporations
  7. Network with other organizations who may provide support
  8. Engage constructively in annual board/committee assessment
  9. Support Gillis staff
  10. Avoid conflicts of interest and other unethical behavior
  11. Support board decisions, and treat board matters confidentially
  12. Be an ambassador and contact legislators/policy-makers on local/state/national levels
  13. Look for strategic alliances, as well as entrepreneurial/collaborative opportunities
  14. Celebrate successes – acknowledge major accomplishments!
